Turkey hand

As a Thanksgiving present to the parents at Sasha's "school" the teachers made a turkey hand of our babies... how seriously cute is this?

Sasha's turkey hand

Oh and here's a picture of Miss Sashie in her bumbo last night... check out how good she's sitting up now. Granted, it's with some help, but there's no more gangsta lean :)

Look how good I can sit in my bumbo now!

My mama teases me

Last night after Sasha was done eating at about 6, I'm holding her and playing around like always but she's starting to look very longingly at her empty bottle. So I sit her on the couch and we play a little more but she's still interested in that bottle... I finally give it too her... oh, happy day! Except, I think she wanted something in the bottle at one point because she started grunting at me and looked quite upset that nothing came out of it... I guess I teased her a bit with it.

what do we have here?

can I get anything from this end?

yum...wait, nothing

what the heck?

trying to figure this out

And, finally, even though there wasn't anything in it...
yes, I did it!

Grab those feet girly

Sasha is very into her feet nowadays. Last night as I was getting her changed and then putting up things in her room she was all about her feet. Every now and again she can get one of them close to her mouth, if not in it, but I just missed getting that picture... hopefully soon though!

A few pictures too
Check this out!

How cool... now can I get them in my mouth?

Shoot! let go of one

I love me some football! and other stuff

So this post will play catch up from the last few days and this weekend... I've gotten a little behind.

Daddy and Sashie like to get on the floor quite often any more and play on the quilt. Mama gets down there some times too, but usually it's Daddy/Sasha time.

Last Thursday night:
Hi mama

Daddy making Sasha fly

No way, Daddy!

Izzy got in on the action as well:
Hey Izzy, whatcha doing?

As the weekend went on Daddy and Sasha did one of their favorite past times while playing on the quilt... watching football! Sasha has turned into quite the football watching buddy for Daddy. No, seriously, she LOVES it! She'll sit there and watch it... cracks me up!
Daddy and Sasha watching football

Throughout the weekend, Izzy and Harry were quite close... they shared the sunspot together (see below) really often and even slept next to each other in the big chair Sunday night. Like a parallel universe or something.
Okay, we'll let you.

Sasha spent some time in her jumper and is getting quite good at making the noises all by herself... you can see she's very proud
Totally getting the hang of this

And we finished off the weekend with a walk... albeit a chilly one...
Brrrr! It's chilly!

I'm mad, but I'm doing things

So Miss Sasha isn't the most fond of tummy time... at least not all the time anyway. She definitely has gotten a LOT better with it lately but at times she vocalizes her frustrations with it. Well, we caught her in one such fit here one night back. But, during the fit she was doing so well grasping her teething ring in the first video and then in the next she got so frustrated she actually started getting up on her knees! It's amazing what a little anger can do to a little girl. But, really, she's got to have some tummy time or she's never going to crawl now is she? ;)

I can pick thinks up

Starting to scoot - knees!

Listen to me!

Miss Sasha likes to talk... I know, I know, those who know me, who would have thought it? Lately the "talking" has turned rather loud and borders on more of a squeal at times. Here's a few "talks" we had this weekend...

Green beans are yummy!

This weekend was Sasha's first try at veggies. It was also my first try at making baby food. Things went well on all accounts actually.

We went with green beans and she actually liked them... okay, as much as a baby is going to like a veggie on their first try. She actually opened her mouth for more, which we took as a good sign, and she didn't spit mass quantities of it out at us. There were a few pretty good faces she made but overall things went well.

I can feed myself!

Miss Sasha is only 5 months old yet last night she was already asserting her independence. She decided that she wanted to feed herself as I tried to feed her oatmeal. She took hold of my hand as I went from bowl to mouth and just held my hand most of the time as I fed her... it was too cute. Josh got the camera and as you can see from the pictures she couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. Then she finally decided enough was enough and she could just do it all by herself.

Put it in my mouth like this Mama

Can you let me hold the spoon?

Finally, you let me hold it myself.

Guess what I can do?

Last week Sasha discovered her legs, and this weekend she discovered she could actually grab the feet at the end of her legs. This week she's been grabbing them quite a bit. We're thinking any time now she'll be sticking those feet in her mouth... just as about everything else right about now.

This picture is from this past weekend:
Check it out! I can touch my foot!

Oh another from this past weekend... she's definitely getting a hang of the cereal:
This spoon is delicious!

In case you've been under a rock...

... and need to play catch up in Sasha's life up to now...

Pictures can be found on our flickr website... www.flickr.com/wilson-family... so you can see from June to the present. I'll actually continue to add the multitude of pictures on there like I have been but here will allow me to do a little more narrative.

Videos can be found on YouTube at... www.youtube.com/boilerpooh... so you can see Miss Sasha "live" and in person. I'll link some of those here from time to time too I'm sure.

A diva is born

June 1, 2008 our little diva was born. 4 lbs, 15 oz and 18.25 inches of pure joy! She was just over 3 weeks early due to me having preeclampsia and having an emergency c-section but she was perfectly healthy... just little. After many years of trying , God had answered our prayers with a precious baby girl, Sasha Haley.

Blog time!

So, we're online with the flickr site and a YouTube page but I figured it's time to get tech savey and jump into the blog world. Many of my friends have them and I love the story telling aspect they give that our other sites don't quite give you. So, here we are. I'll try to update often as I can :)

Next few posts will play catch up to an extent...
