Duckies are yummy!

Over the past month Sashie has started to enjoy snack time a few times a day. She's had puffs for several months but now we introduced an organic version of goldfish... it looks like a duck. Here she is a few weeks ago loving her ducks...

Seeing spots

Well, a rash has come over our baby girl... again! She had one last week that went over her head and torso. We went to the dr and it was determined to be a viral rash. Basically, flu like symptoms like a normal virus but it also has a rash component. Well, the rash got better and she was doing well. Wednesday... it was back... but VERY different.

This rash was ALL over her body... ears, bottoms of feet, arms, legs, bottom, you name it, it is there. And it itched. After getting her home and striping her down to just a diaper cover the itching got better. Thursday morning we got up and things looked even worse. Went to the dr again and after some various looking at her and in some books determined once again a viral rash. It should be better by Monday and if not then we'll start looking at the possibility of allergies (viral rash and allergy rash can look similar but her earlier symptoms point to virus).

Okay, so no pics with this post but I at least wanted to give everyone an update of our little princess.

It seems like everyday the diva has more and more hair finally coming in. Soon maybe I'll get a clip in there :) She's taking more and more steps unassisted and last night we found that Sasha will walk for food. Picture this... we're having our picnic style dinner on the floor in the living room as she plays. Homemade chicken salad (yum!) on organic flax seed bread (yum!) with pickles on the side, not exactly Sashie food, but she wanted it. Josh gets her to take 3 steps for a pickle bite, then a few more for another and another. I know, is this maybe not right? Whatever, it was darn cute and she was walking, so whatever! I come in with some chicken salad for her on my plate but no walking for Mama, she just wants bites like a little bird. Chicken with mayo, garlic, pepper, and Cayenne... delish according to Sash.

In other news, she loves to talk back and forth at times when you say no to her about something. You can only imagine what she says back... "yeah, yeah, yeah."

Her and Harry are best buds and last night she decided laying on him was a good idea along with trying to lick him at one point. Yeah, odd, but she loved it. He let her keep doing this for the longest while but got a little tired and left for the safe heights of the bed a bit later.

Adventures of an avid crawler/stander

So Sashie can now get around the house at lightening speeds. I can walk across the room and look over thinking she's still at her toy basket, but oh no, she's right there with me. As she perfects those crawling skills, and now her standing and cruising skills as well, she's found some new hobbies...

She continues to take a few solo steps here and there both at home and at school. We'll try to get these recorded soon, they just sort of happen out of the blue right now so it's kind of hard.

Sasha's 1st Birthday Party

Miss Sashie's party was a froggy princess theme due to her love of her Leap Frog Tad doll (which we highly recommend) and the fact she's a princess. Here's a few pics from the party. For more pics visit our flickr website.

Needless to say, I think she had a good time. After her cupcake, which she almost completely ate, she took a long nap.

The day was a lot of fun for all of us and I still can't believe she's one!

What a difference a year makes - Sasha is ONE!

So this post should have been last Monday but things were a bit hectic... sorry!

Our baby girl is now one and what a difference a year makes! Josh and I are now parents, not just "fur parents", but parents in the since most people would acknowledge. I'm no longer swollen and have bp as high as the sky. Instead, we have a little princess that lights up our days with her eyes and smile and a giggle that has to be the world's best sound ever. I knew I would love either the Cooper or Sasha that was within my belly, but never did I think it would be this much. Sasha Haley has most certainly rocked our world, and rocked it for the better.
