Sasha walks!

Yes, a little like a cute Frankenstein with her arms straight out, even growling at time, but she is definitely, on her own, all by herself, walking. She started this last week at school on Tuesday after just one visit to the toddler room and ever since she's been quickly picking up the pace. Sort of like when she started to crawl, she started one day and never really looked back. She does still crawl at times but they are getting fewer as each day goes by.

Now presenting our big, grown up walker...

Always on the move

Anymore Sashie is constantly on the move. She's always cracking us up and never ceases to amaze us... here's just a few videos of her recently. In the videos you can get a sense of how much she's now talking too... can't imagine where she gets that from.

Towards the end of this one you can see some of the sign language she doing now...

At the very end of this one you can hear her say "bye-bye"...

Visiting the toddler room

Our little princess is moving on up... well, getting ready to at least. Yesterday, was her first visit to the toddler room at school in the preparations for her move there in about 3 weeks.

By all accounts, and there were many of them, everything went great. Miss Norma visited with her and will continue to do so all week. She went for about 30 minutes and played the entire time. She didn't want Miss Norma to hold her at all. Norma even left for about 5 minutes and just watched her from the window and Sashie did totally fine, no tears or anything. She sat at the little table and had a Dora the Explorer coloring page but didn't seem too interested in it.

During her visit she met up with a few of her past room mates, Paul and Nariah, who were very excited to see her (they're older had made the move a few months ago). Paul actually wanted to give her a kiss, but no worries Harlan, from what I hear she scrunched her face and backed away :)

Her Daddy and I know she'll be in good hands even though we don't know the teacher over in the new room yet because Miss Norma and Miss Erica will be keeping tabs on her. They've both talked to that teacher and told her how special Sashie is to them and the teacher totally understands. Erica's room is right outside her new classroom so she's just a look away.

While I don't have any pictures to share of this special day right now (there are some on the disposable camera we leave at the school) here's a few from yesterday morning as our curious girl occupied herself as her Daddy and I got ready...

"Nothing to see here Mama"
Nothing to see here Mama

Is it just me or is Daddy's shoe about the size of Sashie? Ha, ha... just kidding ;)
A new favorite hobby as we get ready in the mornings

"This is SO much fun"
Okay, I can't hide it, this is SO much fun!

And, no, we try not to make it a habit to let our 13.5 month old play with dirty shoes. Which by the way, she will now repeat after me when I tell her they are dirty... "diry"? "yes, dirty." "diry?"... you can see how that conversation goes.

Hugs!

What's been happening around here?

Sasha has been teething like a little fiend and now has her 1st year molars. As of Thursday night, the last time I could get a look, all but the top right was all through the gum. I think that one is through today from the drool and chewing she did today. She did so good through these! No Tylenol at all. *knock on wood* she stays our little teething champ because she's been so good most of the time.

Swim lessons are going really well. She's kicking so much and starting to work her arms to, sometimes all at the same time even! Here's some pics from the last few classes:

Who's excited for swim class?

She's loves going to "school" and is doing better getting ready for it each day with the help of her chair from YaYa and Pop and some of Disney's Playhouse shows. Before I figured this out getting her shoes on was a freak show!

Ready for another day at school!

Figuring out how to get Disney on
Now how do I get this on Disney?

All set for school

Sashie sends everyone hugs!

Baby vampires do exist

... at least in TN they do. And especially at Sashie's daycare! Last Tuesday our sweet princess was bitten by a classmate. As the story goes, Sashie and said classmate were in the floor playing and then they started fighting over a toy. Sashie won even though she's WAY smaller than this other girl... seriously, she's HUGE and only 2 weeks older than Sasha. Anyway, the other girl wasn't too fond of losing the toy so she bit Sasha's upper arm.

Thanks to quick ice and rubbing from her teachers and some TLC I think it turned out way better than it could have. By this past weekend it was just a small bruise. Still scary though.

Check out the vampire bite on her arm

Tell me that bite is just not awful!

As you can see it didn't keep her down for long...
Wait, you're feeling fine

And, here's a few pics of her new love for reading... Her and Brody often "read" together
Sasha has found a love of reading

Go, go Sasha go

That's pretty much Sashie these days... always on the go! Whether it's playing with toys, following me or Daddy around the house, or heading out on a girls day (as we did this weekend) she's constantly going. Our little 13 month old is growing and growing and has so much energy it's amazing!

This weekend YaYa and Pop decided to visit for the 4th and we had lots of fun. Mama and Daddy had a date day Friday and on Saturday while the guys saw a movie YaYa, Mama, and Sashie had a girls day. Of course this day included shopping and lunch. Sasha got some new earrings and loved the little tortilla and guacamole sandwiches I made her at On the Border. Not sure what it is about turning one, but the girl loves to eat! Saturday I would swear she had hollow legs :)

The weekend ended with a lazy day on Sunday.

But as you can see from the pics below Sashie doesn't stay lazy for long.... here's what most mornings are like around our house...

Bathtime or not, this is a great toy!
