Surgery update

After getting taken back a little later than expected, everything else went according to plan for the most part. The surgery went a little faster than what we were told even. As she came out of the anestesia that was a bit rough but we were told that could happen, it was just a little rough to see. The nurse was able to give her something to calm her down and then she was able to sleep some while laying on me.

We're now home and she's eaten some and is coloring. She's seems to be pretty tired (as is Mama!) and I think a nap is in our future very soon.

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts!

The end should be near

N0, Easter pictures still aren't posted, sorry. But, there has been some progress in things... I have moved to my new office at work (I've be transferred to a new group due to a reorg in IT) and we are very near an end to the ear infection saga for Miss Sashie (hopefully, crossing fingers, saying prayers).

For the past two months or so she's been on antibiotics pretty much non-stop. We've been to more dr's appts than I can count and now it should be over at the end of the week. Last Wed we saw our pediatrician and found out that she was still no better. In fact, her left ear is now the bad one and her right is the somewhat better one (it was the other way around just a week ago). Her pedi was out of options so we were off to the ENT. Thankfully, God was looking down on us and they had an appt the very next day.

On Thursday we met with the ENT (who was really great) and, after her first x-ray, found out that our girl will need surgery for tubes and to get her adenoids removed. She'll remain on antibiotics until the surgery so we wanted the surgery ASAP. So, Friday is the day we hope this will all end. They will suck out all the infection and fix our girl up. It's suppose to be a very quick surgery and she'll heal up quickly as well.

Yes, to answer some of you, I'm freaking out but I know this needs done. I trust in Him above to watch over our girl and to guide the drs.

Please pray and think of our Sashie on Friday.

Latest in ear infection news

As some of you know we've been going back and forth to the dr with Sasha's ears for the past month or so. We just went on Sat and had to go back again today for a follow up to see how things were progressing with the medicine for this latest set of infections. So here's the news...

While her ears are a little better they aren't where they should be with 6 days of meds. We're moving on to the last medicine cindistine (sp?). A bad tasting, older med that you have to give 3 times a day. She's a great med taker but they said she should even get the flavoring in it. AWESOME! We go back, yet again!, in about 9 days. If she's not 100% then it's onto a ENT specialist. If she is 100% then we go to a nasal spray to keep her clear and see how long before another one hits since its now warm. If/when another one hits I think it's then to the specialist.

Please pray this will be the last of the season! Seriously, we need the prayers. I know there are so many others that have it much worse but we just don't want to surgery if we don't have to.

I know many have asked about tubes... our worry with them is that we know a few people whose kids have gotten them and then still have infections. I asked about this and the dr did acknowledge it. He said though that with her history and the way her ears have looked lately with the amount and type of fluid he doesn't believe this would be the case with her if we go that route. He really wants to get her cleared up and feeling okay though right now since this session has gone on so long.

The last day hasn't been too great for her so I didn't expect a great outcome today... Mama's gut was right it turned out. I really didn't want it to be though.

Have a happy Easter!
