Jules and Ace

As many of you know we have newcomers to the house... 3 month old male kittens Jules and Ace:

Our boys, Jules (gray) and Ace

Jules is gray, and Ace is orange/white. Needless to say, our girl is smitten with them. If she wakes up on the grumpy side (which you know NEVER happens!) one or both of them making their way into her room almost instantly brightens her mood. Looking for them and playing with them are now favorite past times. She loves to collect their toys and pile them up so they are at the ready. Oh, and hugging them, gently of course, also tops on her list (they are very good with that!)

Being a great helper is also on the list for our girl. She loves to feed carry their food bowl back and forth and even, on one occasion, remind us their bowl was a getting low when we had forgotten (you know... still getting used to things).

The boys (as we call them) are currently dealing with upper respiratory infections, which aren't uncommon for animals gotten from a shelter according to our vet. They are on the mend after just a few days on medicine.

I do have some other pictures that I'll get posted soon. However, don't worry, I'm sure there will be no shortage of pictures as time goes on. I think our girl has found some friends to keep her company through (hopefully) many years to come. While no pet will replace our Harry - or Sadie for that matter - we know Jules and Ace were chosen for us by Him and were placed at the shelter to be our newest furbabies. They already hold a dear place in our hearts. And yes, even with all that happened, our love for Izzy is there too.

Snowtime for the South

When we moved down south I didn't think we would see much snow, this made me sad. Then when we had our Sasha I realized she wouldn't have the snow days off school and red burning thighs of playing in the snow that I had when I was young. We live in the South where the Summers allow you to fry eggs on the sidewalk and the winters, well, aren't usually bad at all. Seriously, I don't think our city owns one snow plow.

But, boy was I WRONG! Okay, it's no Indianapolis or anything, but what we've seen I'll certainly take! Granted, 2-3 inches will make the city stand still, heck even the thought of that causes a slight panic. So, the fact that we've already had 3.5 snow days this year is AWESOME!

This last "Snowmagadon 2011 part 3" (as the it was termed), or "White Death 2011" as others so aptly named it, brought us a good 3 inches and allowed for some good play time in the daylight. Daddy got home in time to get bundled up with Sasha and go outside for a good Indy like play in the snow.

*and no, she does not have a snow suit or boots. Seriously, this will most likely be the one time this year she plays in the snow ;)
