Perfectly Healthy at Three

"Disgustingly average"... yes, I heard that at our girls' three year check up today and was very happy. Her pediatrician (who we love) is funny, and since she started out so little, he was joking. Yes, she is average in the weight department. Here's her 3 yr stats:

Weight: 31.10 lbs (50th percentile)
Height: 39.5 in (90th percentile) - his estimate is for her height to be about 5'8" to 5'9"... tall girl as Daddy said from the start :)

Blood pressure (yes, I'm having them check this and since this is her "baby book" I'm putting it here): 102/64... average for her age

High BP runs in our families and because of this it's become something for kids as young as 1 to have theirs checked to be cautious and establish norms. If it's something this easy might as well have it checked!

In other news of the check up, she's doing great! In this check up she got her spine and some additional checks of foot and legs, walking (I guess since she's a big girl now) and all was well. He was impressed with her all of her cognitive abilities and happy with our potty training.

We also got some advice in the motion sickness/airplane ride dept since our first one is coming up soon. This runs heavy and hard on my side of the family so I thought I'd bring it up. He said it's better to be safe than sorry on that one since many of us girls take after each other so we'll be armed with a little something as per the dr.

No shots this time, yay! But even with that she was not a fan (AT ALL!) of getting on the scale for her weight... she is a girl :) Other than that she was a little timid with most other things but by the end of the visit she had warmed up and was fine... figures we were ready to go.

Here we are leaving, snack in hand, headed for school to tell everyone about the Tiana sticker she got:

And another just for fun... her yesterday modeling new clothes from Aunt Mandy and Uncle Nick, she just HAD to have those socks on.. Oscar the Grouch:

Three years ago today...

... I was fairly loopy on a variety of medicine to control my insane blood pressure, and not remembering a lot of what had just happened about 3 hours earlier. But, besides that, the best thing in the world had just happened to me. How did I know? I had a 4lb, 15oz baby girl as proof of that. She was 23 days early, but according to the doctors, "she was just little, but healthy". Our Miss Sasha only spent a 1/2 hr under the warmer and that's all the "extra" attention she needed. God watched over us as I had gotten sicker, and I thank him every day.

Day 1

Mama and baby's first meeting

Going home

Finally heading home for the first time

Fast forward to today... taken this morning as she danced to her favorite show Yo Gabba Gabba

Our 3 yr old princess!

Needless to say, she's caught up size wise and she's right around those 50th percentile marks. She's still healthy, thank God. He answered our prayers for our miracle baby and we thank him everyday.

Happy birthday to our sweet, funny, sarcastic (not that we know where she gets that from) Miss Sasha! You are the light of my life.
