First day!

These have been up on Flickr since last week, but to get them officially on the blog, here it is...

Sasha had her first 1/2 day on Aug 11, then started full days on Aug 16th. Needless to say, the transition has gone very well! She is loving her new school. She still refers to Christ Methodist as "my regular school" at times, but she's definitely getting the swing of things at the new one. She's starting to learn her new friends names too. And, I'm even getting involved.. just call me Room Mom (I should have help though!) :)

Anyway, here's pics from that first day... seriously, how big is she!

Start of a tradition... Daddy and Sasha pic each first day. (Let's hope Mama remembers!)

It was the last day

Yesterday was her last day at Christ Methodist. Some how I think it should have been more sad. But, really the friendships we've made there I think will continue for the most part. There's Facebook and email, Mom's night out, and even fall soccer coming up. Hopefully, we'll still see many friends often.

Sasha has been blessed with some really great teachers.. Ms Darlina, Ms Denise, and Mrs Lisa, as well as many fantastic classroom helpers, Ms Jasmine, Ms Maxine, and Ms Queen.

It's just a next step we had to take to get to Holy Rosary (aka "big girl school"), she started today by the way.

To show how much our girl has changed...

A few pictures from her first day at Christ Methodist on Feb 22, 2010:

And now from her last day:

Amazing how much she's changed and how her friendships have grown. Can't wait to see what her new school holds for her!

Breaking news from the dentist!

Yesterday I received a news flash text from Daddy while our girl was at the dentist... Sash was actually letting them clean her teeth! I know, I couldn't believe it either! After that, she let them floss! I asked if our child had possibly been swapped out for another at some point. No, she hadn't. Up to this point (she's been going since 1 yr old), the dentist has only been able to look in while I've held her down on my lap (in a very upset sort of state) and they painted fluoride on her teeth.

So, let's ask ourselves... Was it that I had sent a Blue's Clues DVD for her watching pleasure during all this, or maybe she's just now a big 3 year old and mature enough for a teeth cleaning. No? Or, perhaps, that Daddy took her by himself this time.. yes? I don't know, but whatever it was, I LIKE IT! Just in case it was the Daddy thing I voted that he take her all the time now.. he said okay :) Such a good Daddy!

A fall of many firsts

This fall is going to be one of many firsts for our precious princess. Sasha is now registered for "big girl" school and soccer. Yes, real soccer with a jersey, shin pads and cleats.

"Big girl" school really is SCHOOL...with notes written when she's tardy or absent, folders sent home, etc... I knew all this (don't get me wrong), just it didn't hit me until orientation last night. Her first day of school, a half one, is this Thursday, and the first full day is next Tuesday (Her school, a Catholic one, does a graduated start for 3K students). Pictures will be plentiful, don't worry... and I promise it won't take 6 months for me to get them up on here and Flickr.

The "summer" is essentially over for us. It's been a very fun one filled with our first family vacation, many friends' birthday parties, pool fun, and growing up. If you haven't checked our Flickr site out recently be sure to, since pictures of a lot of the summer fun can be found there.

I have more summer pics on the camera so I'll be sure to upload them soon.

Seriously, I can't believe it's already time for us to be taking these next steps with our girl that we prayed so long and hard for to God. Our miracle babe is thriving and we pray to him she continues to do so as she enters her new school.

Thanks all for continuing to read about our girl! I'll be sure to let you know how the first day goes :)
