So it wasn't exactly today, it was yesterday October 5, 2011, that Steve Jobs passed away. He co-founded Apple. Why is this a big deal? I really don't think Sasha will ever say that if she looks around her. He was responsible for the Mac (because really no one tacks on the word "computer".. they just say "Mac"), the iPhone, the iPod, and the iPad. Sash, you were 3 and had already played with an iPhone and iPad. You regularly want, and plead, with me to paint on my iPad (I hold strong).
Jobs was an innovator and did it all, he even started the movie studio Pixar. You can thank him for one of your favorite movies right now, Toy Story 3, since it came from Pixar. As President Obama said, "Steve was among the greatest of American innovators — brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world and talented enough to do it." Do either me or Daddy own an iPhone right now? Sadly, no. However, we are counting down the days until our current contracts expire and we can get one... VERY soon! This is because we've seen the light and are going over to the "dark side," as some say.
Anyway, this was a nugget of history I felt important to capture, hopefully you (my sweet girl) won't look back and ever ask why :)
"Your time on this earth is limited, don’t live someone else's life, live by your vision." - Steve Jobs, 1955 - 2011
